There’s Another in the Fire

It’s painful, huh? I’m talking about your current season.

How many times have you asked Him, “Why me?”

How many times have you whispered (or shouted), “Aaaih God, sasa hapa unanienjoy?”

How many times have you thrown your hands in the air, exclaiming, “Do You, God! Do You!” because you’ve run out of words, strength, and solutions?

If that’s where you are, then let me remind you of a story. Not just any story, but a fire story. One that reminds us that the fire doesn’t mean God has abandoned you. Sometimes, the fire is where He reveals Himself most clearly.

Daniel 3:19–25. When Faith Meets Fire

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden statue. Their reward?

A furnace! Heated seven times hotter than usual.

These weren’t men who lacked faith. They believed God could save them. But even if He didn’t, they still wouldn’t bow. Let that sink in. They had a “faith that doesn’t flinch,” even in the face of fire.

And so, they were bound up robes and all, and thrown into the flames. The fire was so hot, the soldiers who escorted them in were burned to death.

But then, something unexpected happened.

The fire didn't consume them. It unbound them. And it introduced them to the Fourth Man.

Here’s What We Learn in the Fire:

1. The fire is not the end. It's a passage. What looks like a fiery end is often a holy appointment. Your enemies might be watching, waiting for you to fall. But God shows up where the heat is highest.

2. The fire breaks chains, not you. Notice that the only things that burned were the ropes that bound them. Not their bodies. Not their clothes. Not even the smell of smoke was on them. That fire wasn’t meant to destroy you. It was meant to set you free.

3. The fire reveals God’s presence. It was in the furnace that Nebuchadnezzar saw God’s glory. Sometimes, God shows up most visibly in your life when everything else is falling apart.

Maybe This Fire is Holy Ground

You’ve asked Him why. You’ve cried. You’ve begged. You’ve felt betrayed. Abandoned. Forgotten.

But what if this moment, this exact furnace, is where God walks in? Not to rescue you from it immediately, but to walk you through it. To let those around you see that you are not alone.

Here is what I know. You will come out of this. Not just alive but promoted, like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were (Daniel 3:30). You will come out unburned, unbroken, and undeniable.

Until then, stand. Don’t bow. And look closely…there’s Another in the fire with you!
